Day 1


9h00-11h00 Theory

- Basic principles for being up-to-date in dental traumatology (updated IADT protocol)

- Diagnosis, etiology and risk factors

- Objectives to be achieved for a good prognosis in traumatology.

- Step-by-step clinical protocol for dealing with emergency trauma in the clinic

- Level of urgency depending on the type of injury. When to attend out of hours.

- Prevention of dental trauma.

11:00-11:30 Coffee Break

11:30-13:00 Theory

- Clinical protocol for dealing with coronal and crown-root fractures

- Presentation of clinical cases of each type of trauma

- Follow-up and prognosis of the different clinical cases

- Management of complications: pulp necrosis (clinical technique of apicoformation with bioceramic cement and endodontic regeneration)

13:00-14:30 Lunch

14:30-16:00 Theory

- Clinical protocol for dealing with a root fracture

- Presentation of clinical cases with follow-up and prognostic factors

- How to solve complications related to color change

- Guidelines for dealing with trauma in deciduous teeth

16:30-17:30 Practice

- Hands-on: adhesion of a fractured crown fragment.

Day 2

- Clinical protocol for treatment of concussion, extrusive subluxation and lateral dislocation

- Use of CBCT in dental traumatology

- How to reposition a tooth predictably in its physiological position

- Presentation of clinical cases with follow-up and prognostic factors

11:30-13:00 Theory

- Clinical protocol for dealing with intrusion and avulsion

- Presentation of clinical cases with follow-up and prognostic factors

- Management of complications: resorption and ankylosis

13:00 -14:00 Lunch

14:00 -16:00 Theory

- Treatment of inflammatory resorption

- Preservation of alveolar bone in cases of ankylosis in young patients: clinical technique of decoronation and tooth autotransplantation

- Step-by-step clinical cases of dental decoronation to allow alveolar growth until the placement of osseointegrated implants.

- Step-by-step clinical cases of dental autotransplantation in the anterior sector

16:30 - 17:30: Hands-on

- Creating an apical barrier with bioceramic cement
